Before you can track your website’s performance, you need to find your Google Analytics tracking ID—also known as the Measurement ID. This unique identifier ensures that your data is collected and properly associated with your website.
Follow these easy steps to find your tracking ID in Google Analytics:
1. Click on “Admin”
Log in to your Google Analytics account. In the lower-left corner of the screen, click on the “Admin” gear icon to access the settings panel.
2. Navigate to “Data Collection and Modification”
Under the “Property” column in the Admin panel, look for the section titled “Data Collection and Modification” and click on it to view more options.
3. Select “Data Streams”
From the dropdown menu, select “Data Streams”. This is where all your connected data sources are listed, including websites and apps.
4. Click on Your Website
Locate your website in the list of data streams and click on it to open its settings and configuration details.
5. Locate Your Measurement ID
At the top-right of the stream details page, you will see your Measurement ID—it starts with “G-” followed by a string of characters. This is your tracking ID.
