The Book a Demo page is a crucial aspect of any website. It serves as a gateway for potential clients to request more information, see the product or service in action, and ultimately make a purchase decision. A well-designed and optimised Book a Demo page can significantly improve conversions and lead generation for any business.

At The Munro Agency, we recently had the opportunity to work with a client who needed a redesign and development of their Book a Demo page. Their website was built on Craft CMS, which was new to us as a team, but we were up for the challenge.

In this article, we will document the process of redesigning and developing the Book a Demo page for our client, the difficulties we faced in adapting to a new CMS, and how we overcame them to deliver a successful project.

Why Do We Need a “Book A Demo” Page?

Before we dive into our redesigning and developing process, let’s dig a little deeper into the importance of the Book A Demo page, especially for businesses that aim to increase the chances of converting leads into customers.

Increase conversion rates

A Book A Demo page provides potential customers with a direct and clear call-to-action, increasing the chances of converting website visitors into leads and eventually into paying customers.

Showcase the value proposition

Businesses can use the demo to showcase the unique value proposition of their product, explaining how it can solve specific pain points or improve their business operations.

Gather valuable customer insights

By engaging with potential customers during the demo, businesses can gather valuable insights into customer needs and pain points, which can inform future product development and marketing strategies.

Educate potential customers

A Book A Demo page can be used to educate potential customers about the features and benefits of the product and its features, which can be more effective than just describing them in text or images on a website. This can lead to more informed and qualified leads, which can increase the chances of conversion.

Understanding the Client’s Requirements

The first step in any website project is to understand the client’s requirements. We met with our client to better understand their business, target audience, and goals for the Book a Demo page.

We discovered that the client’s current Book a Demo page needed to be optimized for conversions. The form was located below the fold, making it difficult for visitors to find and fill it out. The page was cluttered with unnecessary information, making it hard for visitors to focus on the main goal – booking a demo.

Based on this information, we suggested a redesign that would focus on simplifying the page and making it easier for visitors to request a demo. We suggested moving the form above the fold, highlighting the benefits of the product, adding social proof, and creating a clear call to action (CTA).

Redesigning the Page

Once we had the client’s approval on the proposed redesign, we moved on to the design phase. We used Sketch to create wireframes and mockups of the new Book a Demo page.

Our design focused on a clean, minimalist layout that would highlight the benefits of the product and make it easy for visitors to request a demo. We used contrasting colours to draw attention to the form and call-to-action button.

The design phase was relatively smooth, and the client was happy with the proposed design. We made a few minor tweaks based on their feedback before moving on to the development phase.

Developing the Page

Once the design was approved by the client, we began the development process. This involved creating a new page template in Craft CMS that incorporated the new design elements. Since we were not familiar with Craft CMS, we had to spend time learning the platform and understanding its nuances. We also had to ensure that the new page template was responsive and would look great on all devices, from desktops to mobile phones.

Despite the initial challenges, we were able to complete the development process smoothly and within the desired timeframe. We also took the time to perform rigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure that the new page was error-free and functioning properly.

Final Outcome

The client was thrilled with the final outcome of the project. The new Book a Demo page was visually appealing, easy to use, and optimized for conversions. The form was prominently displayed above the fold, making it easy for visitors to find and fill out.

We also added social proof to the page in the form of testimonials and customer logos, which helped to build trust and credibility with potential clients.

Final Thoughts

Re-designing and developing the Book a Demo page was a challenging but rewarding experience for our team. We were able to apply our extensive experience with WordPress to a new platform, craft CMS, and deliver a page that met the client’s expectations and exceeded their goals. Our research and planning, design and development, testing and feedback, and launch and results phases were all critical to the success of the project. The client already saw an increase in leads and conversions after the new page was launched, which was a testament to the effectiveness of our work!
